The Tango will be back to Medellin
This year during the month of June the Tango will be back to Medellin, to its streets, bars, theaters, and new spaces, to meet the interpreters, the dancers, the academies, the experts, the collector and the Tango lovers around the world.
Medellin has an unbroken historical link with the Tango, not only because in June 1935 Carlos Gardel died here, but because the people of Medellín have always taken as their own this piece of music, in previous times radio stations transmitting the tango as a musical genre of choice and began to strengthen this culture rooted in the hearts of the inhabitants of the city.
With this festival the city not only pay tribute to Carlos Gardel as the best exponent of tango but shall receive the best dancers, the best voices and national and international orchestras that will show the beauty and color of the tango as a social phenomenon that took root in Medellín as a symbol of universal meeting.
In the festival program include: competitions, lectures, classes and free tango shows in different parks of the city, collectors meetings, artistic performances, theater and film, music auditions Argentina, art exhibitions and fairs craft
